In August 2019, LaTorcha Polati enrolled in Business Launch Prep School (BLPS), a live annual virtual small business startup course and coaching program, to learn how to start a business. She is a U.S. Army Veteran who had just been terminated from her full-time job and felt lost.
She had a deep desire to start a business but needed guidance about how she would begin. After completing the 12-month Business Launch Prep School program, including online curriculum, group coaching sessions, one-on-one coaching sessions, and implementation days, Mrs. Polati is the proud owner of Determined Steps LLC. This company provides spiritual coaching and support to trauma-stricken women. You may find her weekly panel discussions at https://www.facebook.com/highly.favored.733.
“Do not wait another day, because it will be one more day away from achieving your dream. With all that BLPS will give to you, along with your determination, success is inevitable.”LaTorcha Polati, US Army Veteran
Q&A with LaTorcha Polati
What were the big problems that led you to enroll in Business Launch Prep School?
“I did not have clarity on what I needed to start my coaching business. I had the certification but I did not have the knowledge of what was needed to get it started.”
What were your problems costing you?
“Everything. I knew I was called to assist a specific group of women but I knew without a business I could not properly assist them.”
She felt a weight, as she wanted to do her God-given assignment but did not know how. As the program continued, she seemed lighter and more hopeful. There was much growth in confidence in who and what she would serve.
What actions did you take during Business Launch Prep School to obtain the results you have?
“I followed the instructions given by Rolande. She instructed with patience and never let me feel inadequate about the things I did not know. When I didn't understand, I never hesitated to ask her to explain because I knew that she would explain it so that I could comprehend it.”
LaTorcha took her assignments seriously. When asked empowering questions, she didn’t shy away or avoid the topic. She met her pain point head-on. When she needed help, she spoke up. Her success would not have been possible if she wasn’t serious about doing what it takes, professionally and personally, to grow and develop.
What mindset, emotional, and personal hurdles did you have to overcome to get you to the results you have?
“I had a very tough time with my money mindset. It was very difficult for me to put a price on assisting the people that I knew really needed my help. My money mindset was also tied to my emotional blockage of not feeling worthy enough to ask for a set fee.”
12 months can feel like a long time. What prevented you from quitting Business Launch Prep School when the journey was hard?
“Rolande!! She never allowed me to give up on myself or on my dreams. She continued to walk alongside me encouraging, motivating, and directing me.”
What results have you earned from the program?
“I earned the strength to believe in myself and my dreams; I have learned that no matter what comes, as long as I believe in myself, nothing is impossible. I have learned a wealth of knowledge about finances, business, processes, and, most notably myself.”

What lessons have you learned?
“I learned that as long as I continued to believe in my dreams and in myself I will make it as long as I continued to take one step at a time.”
LaTorcha wanted to do the work to earn the results she had today. No matter how good a program is, if the client doesn’t put in the time and work, they will not receive the results.
What prescription or recommendations do you have for women who are undecided about enrollment?
“Do not wait another day, because it will be one more day away from achieving your dream. With all that BLPS will give to you, along with your determination, success is inevitable.”
In your opinion, what is the next best step for anyone interested in the program to take now?
“For anyone coming into the program, it is best to understand what you want to achieve, even if you need to learn how to do it. It is best to know your end state to ensure you receive all you can from the program.”
BLPS can help clients clarify what they want as an end result and how to get there.
